Mindfulness
"Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention to the present. This state encompasses observing one’s thoughts and feelings without judging them as good or bad.
Mindfulness is frequently used in meditation and certain kinds of therapy. It has many positive benefits, including lowering stress levels, reducing harmful ruminating, and protecting against depression and anxiety. Research even suggests that mindfulness can help people better cope with rejection and social isolation."

In March we started practicing a few minutes of Mindfulness in P.E. lessons. We started with the following breathing exercises.
I encourage you to use these videos as a reminder and then to turn them off and practice in silence or with gentle music or sounds. Be aware of how you feel before and after. Notice anything? When noises or thoughts distract you, that doesn't mean you "messed up". Distractions are a part of mindfulness and learning to let them go, without judgement, and continue.
